It all begins with the WHY!
We bought our first rental property in December 2024 to build legacy, improve the lives of those around us that we could employ and help, build a non-profit that serves, and quite honestly, better position ourselves NOW so that we can buy back our freedom. Reading the book Rich Dad, Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki changed my life forever. His book enlightened me to the theory that is neither taught nor told in primary school: we DON’T HAVE to exist on the endless hamster wheel that is trading your time for money - otherwise known as, working to build someone else’s dream.
Freedom comes with building your own dream. Cue the song “Freedom” by Beyonce, version with Kendrick Lamar (obvi), because that’s the topnotch theme song! Freedom of time, to be with our family, to care for and give back to our community and abroad, to take care of ourselves and our children in ways our parents never could. Freedom to be the first generation that gives the next a head start - so they don’t have to start from scratch. Discovering the amazing body literature of literature that exists in the world of Financial Independence, Retire Early (FIRE) and basic financial literacy left me speechless and mind-blown at the new possibilities that could be our life.
Real estate is one historically solid way to reach FIRE, leave a legacy, and build within our own community. All boxes checked!
As we grow, we have big hopes to serve and give back to the communities we live in, buy in, and add to. We have big dreams about how top-notch in NC becomes a business that creates a refuge for those in need and receiving treatment at the nearby and world-renowned Duke University Medical Center. In order to do that we know we have to start smart and small.
