Working from Puerto Rico this week!
The hamster wheel of life is REAL!!! Work (to pay bills, because let’s be honest, how many of us would go to that job if we didn’t have to?!), pay the bills, work some more, create more bills, pay those bills.
And all the while, something inside you is whispering “there has to be more. There’s got to be a different way”. So many people have successful careers and good paying jobs but haven’t been told that TRADING YOUR TIME FOR MONEY ISN’T THE WAY (read this linked book and it will blow your mind!). Once you disconnect your time from how you generate income, you will have unlocked the secret!

View from my office this week…. morning coffee, the ocean, and my laptop was the dream you’d imagine it to be. It is moments like this that make all the work, long days, and low key anxiety attacks worth it. Being able to leave all of this for my kids - not just the money or houses or things, but the modeling of what it looks like to LOVE what you do, have a family as your first priority, be your own BOSS, share the blessing of knowledge with others, and be full of joy and successful doing it all will prove to be the best things I can work hard to create for them in years to come.
Let’s start with all the steps that you can begin today:
1. CASH CONTROL: Create a budget and surplus and save (aka - stop buying all those things off Amazon you don’t need). This is hard in our consumer-centric society, we know.
2. SAVE, borrow, leverage, or find partners to fund your first investment property.
3. LEARN: like anything else, take yourself back to school - aka YouTube university, podcasts, books, and become obsessed with doing this thing! Every time I get in the car, I am listening to a real estate investment or business podcast, listening to books while walking the dog, or watching a YouTube video and folding laundry. Be obsessed!
4. Find an investment savvy real estate agent that has already done what you’re trying to do. We know the best @homesbykit , but there are many everywhere!
5. Take the leap, find the property, run the numbers, buy the house. People will think you’re crazy, they won’t understand, they’ll tell you it’s risky, they’ll tell you you’re going to fail. Do not listen.
6. Decide on short/mid/long term renting.
7. Launch
…the time is now!!!
